SUMMARY:Embodied Narratives
DESCRIPTION:Curator’s Note — Embodied Narratives \nEmbodied Narratives brings together seven highly accomplished artists working across contemporary figurative painting. Each artist approaches the human form as both subject and vessel\, using figuration to explore how lived experience is carried\, remembered\, and reimagined through the body. \nThough united by a commitment to the figure\, the works in this exhibition diverge in style\, technique\, and sensibility. From precise\, intimate renderings to expressive\, gestural compositions\, the painted body shifts between presence and distortion\, solidity and fragmentation. In each case\, figuration becomes a language through which complex inner and social realities are made visible. \nHere\, the body is not fixed or idealized\, but contingent—marked by time\, emotion\, and context. Some figures appear suspended in quiet introspection\, while others assert themselves with urgency or tension. Surfaces reveal layers of revision and trace\, suggesting that identity\, like paint\, is built through accumulation\, erasure\, and transformation. \nAcross the exhibition\, the artists engage questions of visibility and perception: What does it mean to truly see a body? How do gesture\, color\, and composition shape our understanding of presence? And how might painting itself act as a site where personal and collective narratives converge? \nEmbodied Narratives invites viewers to slow down and encounter the human form in its many iterations—not as a singular truth\, but as a field of possibilities. Through these works\, figuration becomes a space of inquiry\, where the body speaks in multiple registers\, and where looking becomes an act of connection. \nOpening 2nd April at The Reservoir\n📍301 Residence 62\, FCC\, 62 Syed Maratib Ali Road Gulberg IV Lahore. \n2nd April 2026 5:00 PM – 9:30 PM\n3rd – 13th April 2026 11:00 AM – 7:00 PM
